ThinkFilm's one-note comedy about a pair of hapless would-be criminals, written and directed by former "Seinfeld" scribes Gregg Kavet and Andy Robin, displays little of the comic spark of their previous work. The New Hampshire-set film is receiving a limited theatrical release, appropriately in New England.The film's title comes from the state motto, though it does little to set the tone for what follows. The story centers on John "Rugged" Rudgate (a charisma-free Aaron Stanford), a wannabe crook so scared to actually practice his craft that he buys the stereo speakers that he tells his customers are stolen. Spending his time on a variety of low-level scams like forging rebate coupons, he accidentally commits a crime for real when he poisons a guy who has been bullying him and the victim winds up dead.At the same time, he becomes involved with Lagrand (Paul Schneider, doing a badWill Ferrell impersonation), a slow-witted childhood friend who admiringly believes that Rugged is the real criminal deal.There are some respectable performances by the supporting players, includingJudah Friedlander as a profane store owner, Kevin Dunn as an exasperated sheriff,Michael Rapaport as a cop obsessed with his wife's possible infidelity andZooey Deschanel as Lagrand's level-headed sister.The ramshackle screenplay never gathers any comic steam, and the directors' hapless execution removes the possibility of any real laughs. They were no doubt aiming to give the film a deadpan comic tone, but instead it is simply lifeless.

When doing more research, the conspiracy takes Ben, Abigail Chase, and Riley Poole to Buckingham Palace (which they break into). They discover a plank that has early Native American writing on it. The plank has only one symbol that Patrick Gates can identify. The symbol is Cibola (see-bowl-uh) meaning the City of Gold. In order to define the rest the have to go to Ben's mother, Patrick's divorced wife. After 32 years it brings back old arguments. After that the other clue is in the President's desk in the Oval Office in the White House (which Ben and Abigail sneak into) to discover that the clue lies in The President's Book. But in order to see the book, their choice is either get elected president or kidnap the President of the United States. Which do they choose? It's obvious. With Wilkinson close on their tail, they find the book in the Library of Congress. The conspiracy then crosses to Mount Rushmore where the clue was on the hills, but (according to the Book) President Calvin Coolidge had the faces carved in so no one can find the City of Gold. When they get there they find out that they must work with Wilkinson since he has some clues of his own. Who will claim Cibola? And will the name of Gates be known as murder?
Ben Gates comes from a family of treasure hunters. And he does but Abigail Chase the curator of the National Archives, where it is kept, discovers what he has done and tries to stop him but gets caught in the crossfire between Ben and Ian, so Ben takes her with him. This is a true adventure comedy. The donkey, Rucio, tells the true story of Don Quixote and defends the idea that he wasnt mad, but in reality, Quixote was a very intelligent, passionate and enthusiastic fellow. We then follow Don Quixote, his squire, Sancho Panza (Quixotes best friend and the wealthiest man in town), Sanchos donkey, Rucio (who wants to be a horse) and a real horse, Quixotes faithful steed, Rocinante (who hates leaving his stable) on their adventure to duel the Knight of the Moon where, if Quixote wins the duel the true identity of Dulcinea will be revealed.
